Can you block a speed camera with IR(InfraRed) light?
I just wanted to know if you can block speed cameras in general with Ir light. The reason i ask this question is because i was on the internet the other day and saw that this Russian billionaire who has a 500ft yacht uses IR light to stop paparazzi from taking pictures of his boat. Also n the movie Inside Man Clive Owens Blocks a camera by using what i would call a IR Floodlight? In all is it possible to block cameras with IR light?
Thanks =] thats what it was ,and if it is lasers then wouldn’t lasers work as well? I should rephrase the question; can lasers block speed cameras/ security cameras in general?
short answer – If you come up with something that works, it’s illegal.
long answer – There are many different technologies to try and fool red light cameras. There are reflective coatings that go over your license place. You could try a camera dazzler using a blinking visible light, infrared light, or like the article a LASER. You could just remove your license plate. Worst case scenario, you could just stop running red lights.
By the way, Heretex is missing the point. She’s describing how the devices detect speed. Fooling that would be even harder.
